U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio Opens Season Aug. 22

Aug 22, 2012

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, in the national spot light amid speculation of being a possible running mate for Mitt Romney, will open the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches’ season Aug. 22, just days before the Republican National Convention convenes in Tampa.

The noon luncheon is being held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, 650 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach.  It will be the first time Rubio has addressed the Forum Club as a U.S. senator.

Please note new ticket prices:  Member tickets are $35.  Guest tickets ordered by members and applicant tickets are $45.  Public tickets are $60.  Tickets may not be ordered until receipt of electronic or standard newsletter.

Rubio served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000-2008 and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010.  When he launched his campaign in 2009, he was considered a long shot, however he prevailed on a pledge “to stand up to Washington’s reckless spending and its assault on the free enterprise system.”

“Since I have been in the Senate, I have proudly been on the side of job creators and parents whose mission in life is to build a strong and prosperous America their children will be blessed to inherit” Rubio says in his biography.

Considered a rising star in the Republican Party, his committee assignments include Commerce, Science and Transportation; Foreign Relations; Intelligence and Small Business and Entrepreneurship.  He and his wife Jeanette have four small children and live in West Miami.
